For the Q1 Building, GDP designed and installed a bespoke kombi catwalk along the BMU track, providing essential access to the building’s cooling towers.
This project was laden with risks, requiring platforms that could span the top of the cooling towers with hinge sections for maintenance access. The platforms were securely fixed to the BMU track structure, addressing the unique challenges of the site.
Our team encountered issues related to platform deflection due to the BMU’s weight, but through detailed on-site assessment and problem-solving, we successfully navigated these complexities. The project was completed efficiently, ensuring both safety and functionality.
